I4J EXCLUSIVE: THERE WILL BE A 12TH DISTRICT CONGRESSIONAL RACE!

I have been advised that Bartow massage/physical thearpy clinic owner James B. Davis will qualify to be the Democratic candidate for the 12th Congressional District seat currently held by Republican Adam Putnam.

Davis' campaign has been able to raise the nearly $10,000 filing fee, which will be delivered to the Secretary of State's office Friday morning.

This will be Davis' first political campaign, but he has been a longtime activist and was one of the people involved in the effort to save Polk General Hospital, the county's indigient care hospital.

He has a lot of work to do, and has already spoken at several meetings to introduce himself to the electorate of the district, which covers much of Polk as well as portions of eastern Hillsborough County and a small area of west Osceola County.
