DOES AL RUECHEL HAVE RONDA STORMS' BACK?

In last week's Weekly Planet Tampa, columnist Wayne Garcia writes about an apparant dust up brought about by an area PR firm owner who challenged Bay News 9 Political Connections co-hosts Al Ruechel (BN9 Senior Anchor) and Adam C. Smith (political editor for the St. Petersburg Times) for not pressing Hillsborough County Commissioner Ronda Storms on comments she made during a recent appearance on the show.

Storms is an ultra-conservative, and has led the fight on the Hillsborough BOCC against gay rights or any support for gay/lesbian events by county government. She is currently running for a seat in the Florida Senate, and said on the programme that, if elected, she would work to reverse the state's policy which allows gay couples to serve as foster parents.

Scott Taylor's e-mail to Ruechel and Smith was also sent to members of the Tampa Bay area media. While Smith did not reply, the cable news anchor did.

This story is certainly an interesting read, as Wayne Garcia's work usually does.

If you think Ruechel had Storms back...

You should have heard the "public affairs" show on WMTX-FM this weekend. The host, a talk show host from WFLA (of course) named Shana Lance, threw up softball questions and let Ronda rant for 10 minutes at a time. Look what the Times did to Gina Vivinetto.
All of the media in town is terrified of this drama queen, save perhaps the Weekly Planet.

Of course, everyone who watches Bay News 9 knows it's a fundie nest.
