A COMMODITY I MAY ACTUALLY GET TO USE TODAY: MY UMBRELLA!

As I post this just before 7:00 AM ET, there is a light rain coming down with some thunder in the air. Now that may not seem like a big event, but it is the first rain we have had in nearly a month. Watching the early morning newscast, I saw the radar showing the leading edge of some strong thunderstorms approaching the coast north of our area. We are now along that leading edge, but if it heads east or northeast we won't see very much of the wet weather.

Of course, with thundershowers/storms is good news and bad news. While we get some much needed rain to help make the grass green again, we don't need the lightning...especially with the wildfires that have been sparked in several areas of Florida over the past few days. When I was leaving the Democratic Executive Committee last night, there was a strong smell of smoke, likely coming from the large wildfire in Hillsborough County, a good 30-40 miles from Bartow.
