THE GOVERNOR ACTUALLY SAID IT...KATHERINE HARRIS CAN'T WIN!

This, my friends, has got to be the quote of the week, fron this morning's Tallahassee Democrat:

"We already have a candidate in the race who's a good person. I just don't believe she can win...Most of the polls I see show her down by 30. There's no complicated reason, it's just that she has not gained any traction."

Of course, Harris has her take on the situation:

"With all due respect for the governor - because I think he's done an extraordinary job - we know we can win and we have a strategy to do so...Of course, we would love him to be on board and say, 'I know she can win.' He's said that before."

That was, obviously, before Jeb got himself a dose of reality.

No word on House Speaker Allan Bense (R - Panama City) jumping into the fray. However, I did have the opportunity to meet State Senator Walter G. "Skip" Campbell, Jr. (D - Taramac), the Democratic candidate for Attorney General last evening, and he said that when he spoke with Bense very recently, the Panhandle businessman said he did not believe he would run.

FYI: Senator Campbell made an excellent presentation to the Polk County Democratic Executive Committee. Earlier in the day, Campbell and three of the Republican candidates seeking Charlie Crist's current job appeared at the Polk County Tiger Bay Club luncheon in Bartow. The other AG candidate, Republican State Representative Joe Negron of Stuart, cancelled due to a family emergency.
