A RISING DEMOCRATIC STAR SETS HER SIGHTS

Watching C-SPAN on occasion, I've seen Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D - Weston) and have been impressed with her. She is seen as a rising star among congressional Democrats, and is the only freshman member to be named to the Democratic whip's team.

Now she's got her sets aimed toward getting a fellow Florida congressman sent home, and he ain't too happy about it. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Wasserman-Schultz has been raising money and openly endorsing State Senator Ron Klein (D - Boca Raton), who is challenging incumbant Republican Clay Shaw of Fort Lauderdale.

Wasserman-Schultz says about her collegue this way: "I think Clay Shaw is out of step with the vast majority of people in this community. It's time for a change."

Shaw complained last month to the Sun-Sentinel editorial board that she is threatening the unity of the Florida congressional delegation, and his operatives called her a "political hack".

Get the idea he's worried?
