LAKELAND HS GETS NATIONAL PLATFORM, BUT AT A COST?

The Lakeland High School Drednaughts are still undefeated, and since the preseason has been ranked the number one high school team nationally in the USA Today poll.

This has resulted in the team's game against Kissimmee Osceola being featured nationally on Fox Sports Net. Lakeland's athletic director accepted an offer --- for only $5,000 --- to change the game date to October 27...a Thursday. Osceola received nothing for the switch, which bothers Athletic Director Dana Dodson according to this quote from a Bloomberg News story:

"It's a little funny, isn't it? It makes you wonder why they're getting money and we aren't. No one has said anything about money, and it's going to be on national television.''
