MORE EVIDENCE OF HOW UNUSUAL THIS HURRICANE SEASON HAS BEEN

What is now Tropical Depression Vince has made landfall along the coast of Spain near Huelva. This storm, which became a minimal Catagory 1 hurricane during the weekend, has made history in a couple of ways.

It is the first tropical cyclone since records have been kept to make landfall in Spain. It is also the fartherest east and north that a tropical cyclone has ever formed. And it is the 20th named tropical cyclone this Atlantic hurricane season, making this the second busiest in recent memory.
