HERE'S ANOTHER INTERESTING GOP PRIMARY

Over in the 69th Florida House District, which covers much of northwest Sarasota County and a snippet of Manatee County, incumbant Donna Clarke (R - Sarasota) has announced that she will seek reelection after some consideration about running for the Congressional seat currently held by fellow Republican and U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris.

But Ms. Clarke is facing possibly formadible opposition for the seat she has held for five years, according to Jeremy Wallace's political column this week in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Sarasota County Commissioner David Mills has done well in getting money and endorsements from several area leaders. Among those providing support are State Senator Michael S. Bennett (R - Bradenton), Sarasota County Sheriff Bill Balkwill, and Christian Coalition of Florida leader Pat Neal, a former state senator.

There are no Democrats in the race yet.
