MAYBE HE LEARNED SOMETHING WHILE AROUND "THE DONALD"

The Miami Herald reports this morning that Fort Lauderdale attorney/real estate investor Bradford Cohen is filing to run for the District 2 City Commission seat currently held by Dean J. Trantails, who is not seeking reelection.

Normally, a city commission race in Fort Lauderdale would not cause a second look, but Cohen, a registered independent, is probably well known for one bit of fame --- and lack of success --- he was one of the candidates fired by Donald Trump during the second season of "The Apprentice".

The self-described "big fish in a small pond", who can be seen commuting to the courthouse or looking over his properties in a customized gas-powered golf cart with monster truck tires, has already raised over $10,000 for the race. Much of that was collected Sunday evening during a gala event which featured a number of reality show stars. He's even collected $250 --- the maximum allowed contribution --- from The Donald himself.

Since his being dumped in the boardroom, Cohen has capitalized on his experience, offering legal commentary on Celebrity Justice and appearing on Battle of the Network Reality Stars. He promises a serious campaign against three other candidates.

And he's not the only Apprentice alum looking at politics. Raj Bhakta, the bow-tie wearing real estate investor who appeared during the same season as Cohen, is possibly looking to challenge Philadelphia-area Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D - PA). He has spoken with area Republican officials and with the National Republican Congressional Committee.
