FDP GETTING BACK ON IT'S FEET FINANCIALLY

Finally, some good news from the Florida Democratic Party.

Financial reports filed with the state Department of Elections note that the FDP raised more than $1.2 million during the last quarter ending September 30, more than the party had raised in the previous six months. It's the second highest fundraising quarter for a non-election year since 1996.

It seems like the changes in leadership since the financial bungling earlier this year and a real plan to take back elected offices are causing contributors to write checks to the FDP again. It is certainly something that will be needed, as the 2006 election won't be easy by any means. One can only hope the GOP continues it's imploding.

Actually, the Jefferson Jackson dinner was in June and would have been largely reported on the July 2005 quarterly report.
