HARRIS, NELSON TO DEBATE TWICE...MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
The two major party candidates for the U.S. Senate seat, incumbant Democrat Bill Nelson and Republican challenger Congresswoman Katherine Harris, have agreed to meet in two debates in the couple of weeks prior to the November general election.
The first debate will be held on October 23 at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and will be sponsored by Leadership Florida, the Florida Press Association, and Florida Public Broadcasting. The debate, which will be from 8:00 until 9:00 PM, will be aired on the state's 25 public television stations.
The second debate will be moderated by NBC Senior Vice President/Washington bureau chief and Meet The Press moderator Tim Russert, and will be held at 7:00 PM November 1 from the campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando. It will be aired live by Florida's NBC affiliated stations.
