ONE GOVERNMENT OFFICE WILL BE OPEN MONDAY

Of course, it will be Labor Day, and government offices will be closed...except one in Polk County.

Supervisor of Elections Lori Edwards announced that the main office at 250 South Broadway Avenue in Bartow will be open to the public Monday during regular hours, 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

Although early voting has ended, residents can vote by absentee ballot at the SOE office. People can also make changes to their voter information, including name and address. While one can also change their party affiliation tomorrow, the books have closed for Tuesday's election...so such changes would not take effect until the November 7 general election.

Ms. Edwards had said she made the decision to open the Bartow office (the branch offices will be closed) was due to the fact that SOE employees would be working anyway in preperation for the Tuesday primary.
