POLK LEGISLATORS TO DISCUSS THE RECENT SESSION

This morning, members of the Polk County legislative delegation will be appearing at the monthly Polk County Tiger Bay Club luncheon to discuss the recently completed session, discussing the bills they sponsored, and answering questions about legislation that passed.

Who knows, a couple of them may even talk about their ambition to become Senate President, eh???

If you're in the area, the gathering begins this morning at 11:30 at Cleveland Heights Golf Club, 2900 Buckingham Avenue in Lakeland. Cost for the luncheon is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. To find out more about the club, you can call (863) 519-0100.

Unfortunately, I have to work when these meetings take place, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Polk County Tiger Bay chapter. It has only been in existance for just over two years, but they've been able to get some really interesting guests.

For those who are not familiar, Tiger Bay Clubs are generally considered the premier non-partisan political clubs across Florida, with chapters in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Volusia County (Daytona Beach) as well as the local club (and maybe one or two others I failed to notice). Anyone who has an acute interest in politics and public affairs would enjoy these monthly gatherings.

BTW: I noticed that locally, the candidates for Chief Financial Officer are scheduled to appear July 10.
