THE BASEBALL STARS OF TOMORROW ARE COMING

For Central Florida baseball fans, Lakeland will be the place to be this weekend. The Florida State League is usually one of the first stops for many up and coming ballplayers on their way up the ladder to what they hope will be stardom in the big leagues. Saturday, the FSL's annual all star game will be played at Lakeland's Joker Marchant Stadium; gametime is 7:35 PM.

Earlier in the day, you can meet the all-stars and help out Big Brothers/Big Sisters by attending the Autograph Crawl from 11 AM until 1 PM at Munn Park in downtown Lakeland. Ten dollars will get you a wristband, map, and access to the FSL All-Stars, who will be spread throughout the park. Of course, you will need to bring an item of your choice for the players to sign.

And, of course, what's an all star weekend without the Home Run Derby before the game, and a big fireworks display after?
