IT'S GOING TO BE A WET DAY OR TWO...THANKS, ALBERTO!

As of 7:00 PM Sunday evening, Tropical Storm Alberto is located about 360 miles south-southwest of Applachicola, with highest sustained winds still near 45MPH. That puts it on the lower scale of tropical storms, and forecasters are not expecting much more from Alberto before it makes landfall sometime tomorrow or Tuesday.

The main thing we are looking for from this storm is a bit of rain, which is something we actually need right now. Central Florida has been experiencing mainly dry weather with the occasional hit-and-miss shower (mostly miss here in Lakeland), which has contributed to the busy wildfire season. Alberto's rain may not bring us back to normal conditions, but it will certainly help.

So don't be too concerned for us in these parts, as Alberto will likely do more good for us than the slight bit of inconvenience that's expected.
