BUSY TROPICAL WEATHER SEASON STARTING EARLY AS EXPECTED

Well, they said it would be a busy season, and we may just have our first tropical storm of the season by the end of today. There is what is called a "special feature" east of the Yucatan Peninsula and near the western tip of Cuba that is being watched, and a "Hurricane Hunter" aircraft from Keesler AFB, Mississippi will investigate today. Conditions are favourable for continued development, and if it becomes a named tropical storm it will be Alberto. It it does develop it could drift into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend and likely affect the U.S. Gulf Coast Monday or Tuesday.
