THIS WEEK ON THE SUNDAY CHAT SHOWS
First, a couple of Sunday news interview shows may be rescheduled or preempted in a number of areas this weekend, as ABC will be broadcasting selected World Cup matches and NBC is airing the French Open tennis tournament. Check your local listings for the times that This Week with George Stephanopoulos and Meet The Press will air for the next couple of weeks.
Of course, the "elimination" of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq this week will obviously be THE primary topic of discussion on many, if not all of the Sunday talk shows
ABC / This Week with George Stephanopoulos: Discussing al-Zarqawi and Iraq will be former ambassador to Iraq L. Paul Bremer. The roundtable discussion will feature Fareed Zakaria of Newsweek International, ABC News political consultant Donna Brazile, and conservative columnist George Will.
CBS / Face The Nation with Bob Schieffer: The guest list has not been posted as of early Saturday morning. Please check back later.
CNN / Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer: Iraqi national security adviser Dr. Mowaffak al-Rubaie; U.S. Senators Jack Reed (D - RI) and Arlen Specter (R - PA); Brigidaer General Mark Kimmitt, Deputy Director of U.S. Central Command; Queen Rania al-Abdullah of Jordan, and Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
FOX/Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace: Iraq to be discussed with Commanding General George Casey of the Multi-National Force, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R - GA), Congresswoman Jane Harman (D - CA), and Dan Senor, former Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman.
NBC / Meet the Press with Tim Russert: General Casey will also appear here. And a political roundtable with Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, Jonathan Alter of Newsweek, The Cook Report's Amy Walter, and Byron York of The National Review.
Syndicated / The Chris Matthews Show: Will al-Zarqawi's death rebuild support for our Iraq operation? And will freshman U.S. Senator Barak Obama (D - IL) run for president? These topics will be discussed with Janine Zacharia of Bloomberg News, Howard Fineman of Newsweek, Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Michael Duffy of Time.
