HARRIS' LATEST CHIEF OF STAFF QUITS...THAT MAKES FOUR FOR THIS CAMPAIGN!?!?

The Orlando Sentinel political blog Central Florida Political Pulse notes Thursday that Fred Asbell, who has served as the fourth campaign chief of staff for Congresswoman Katherine Harris (R - Longboat Key), is leaving after today but says he will continue to do some work for the campaign.

Asbell said in an e-mail that he is leaving to pursue a business opportunity, but did not provide any further information. Campaign spokesman Gerry Fritz was quoted as saying that Asbell would return to Florida to serve as a consultant for the Harris campaign.

The blog reports:

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee sought to capitalize on the news of Asbell's departure, asking in a news release, "If Katherine Harris can't accomplish the basic task of keeping a staff in place in her office, how can she be trusted to function as an advocate for Florida?"
