NELSON GETS SOME A-LIST HELP OVER THE WEEKEND

Young. Good looks. African-American. Extremely bright. Some would say "presidential".

All those descriptions have been used regarding the freshman U.S. Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, and he brought those A-list attributes to Orlando over the weekend.

After speaking at an event in Eatonville, Obama attended a private fundraiser at the home of shoe-store executives Ann and Bill Wallace to benefit his Florida collegue, Bill Nelson. The gathering reportedly raised approximately $100,000 for Nelson's reelection campaign, and was attended by many of the big-money Democratic activists in the area.

The Orlando Sentinel's Scott Maxwell mentioned that many among the 75 or so attendees chatted excitedly about the possibilities of Obama taking many of the attributes mentioned above to the Oval Office as America's first black president. Nelson even was quoted in describing his Illinois collegue this way:

"He's a rock star."
