THERE'S ONE THING THAT UNITES OPPOSING CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES...

A PAY RAISE!

The House of Representatives approved this week a raise for themselves to the tune of $3,100 a year. That brings your Congressperson's annual salary to $165,200, about five times the average pay for someone in their home district.

It brought together many folks: liberals, conservatives, Republicans, Democrats. Many people who usually are sharply divided on most issues came together in the 263-152 decision to raise their own pay.

Among those in the Central Florida delegation to vote in favour of the raise:
Corrine Brown (D - Jacksonville). Adam Putnam (R - Bartow). Tom Feeney (R - Orlando). Dave Weldon (R - Melbourne).

To their credit, there were some among the local group who decided they earned quite enough, thank you very much:
John Mica (R - Orlando). Ginny Brown-Waite (R - Brooksville). Ric Keller (R - Ocala)
