GALLAGHER GETS A BOOST

State Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher's gubenatorial campaign got a boost Thursday when three former legislative collegues and state Republican Party chairmen endorsed him. Miami attorney Al Cardenas, Tom Slade of Jacksonville, and Van Poole of Tallahassee all served with Gallagher in the Legislature in the 1970s when the GOP was in the minority.

While Attorney General Charlie Crist has to be considered the front runner at present in the Republican race to succeed Jeb!, this endorsement by three heavy hitters within the Florida GOP will definately mean the primary race will become much more interesting. These are fellows who can put together big bucks for a candidate, so get ready for one heckuva ride...
