CRIST, SMITH, COLLINS GET AN ADDITIONAL ENDORSEMENT TODAY

Gubernatorial candidates Attorney General Charlie Crist (R) and State Senator Rod Smith (D) have earned the endorsement of the Naples Daily News, announced in today's edition.

The NDN describes Crist as "a consistantly solid citizen and public servant", while it believes that Smith "...more so than Davis, clicks with today's Florida." but also mentions that "The good news for Democrats is that they have two quality candidates from which to choose."

The endorsement count from major Florida newspapers is now:

Smith - 5

Crist - 5

Davis - 0

Gallagher - 0

Also getting an endorsement by the Naples newspaper is LeRoy Collins, Jr. in the Republican U.S. Senate primary. It says that "Seeing him go toe-to-toe with Nelson in debate...would be democracy truly in action."
