SOME STRONG WORDS THIS MORNING

Lakeland Ledger political columnist Bill Rufty's weekly bit contains some of the strongest commentary I've seen him write in months. With less than four weeks remaining in the qualifying period for federal offices, Rufty seems fustrated at how Congresswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris (R - Longboat Key) is handling her campaign. While Harris says she wants to talk about the issues, she slings arrows at Democratic incumbant Bill Nelson, calling him more liberal than the two U.S. Senators from New York and "claiming to be an astronaut" (he flew the space shuttle mission before Challenger's ill-fated 1986 flight).
