NEITHER GOP GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE CAN CLAIM BIG DIBS

Both of the major Republican candidates for governor, Attorney General Charlie Crist and Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher, have raised over three million dollars each in what promises to be one of the most expensive primary races in state history. But who can claim the support of most of the major contributors to incumbant Governor Jeb Bush and his brother, the president?

Apparantly at this point, neither, according to the Miami Herald.

Many big pocket Republicans have kept their checkbooks closed, as most of the contributions to both candidates so far have been from people in industries who are regulated by the candidates' offices now or would be greatly affected by whoever is elected next November: Real Estate, development, construction.

Among those remaining neutral for now: Fort Lauderdale attorney and Sayfie Review creator/author Justin Sayfie, and his legal partner Jim Blosser. They are concentrating on raising money for the Republican Party of Florida.

But while the Republican gubernatorial candidates have been rolling in the dough, leading GOP U.S. Senatorial candidate Congresswoman Katherine Harris (R - Sarasota) has been looking like the Democratic candidates for governor in the fundraising area, according to the Palm Beach Post. She only reported more then $402,000 for the most recent quarter and a total of $858,000 for the election cycle. While her money was collected for her congressional reelection campaign, it could be shifted to a U.S. Senate campaign if/when she formally enters the race.

Meanwhile, incumbant Senator Bill Nelson has collected more than $2.2 million dollars during the past three months.
