WATCH OUT...THIS IDEA COULD COME TO YOUR AREA SOON

According to the Orlando Sentinel today, the state is proceeding with a controversial plan to expand Interstate 4 one last time through Orlando, but this time adding toll lanes in the centre with adjustable tolls according to the amount of traffic.

The idea could reportedly begin in four years and be completed by 2013.

What are known as "Lexus lanes" would be constructed down the middle of the interstate highway from just east of State Road 434 to just west of Kirkman Road. Drivers could get on or off the toll lanes at any of eight spots along the route or at several cross streets. The fares would be adjustable to encourage or discourage drivers from using them, according to the amount of traffic using the toll lanes at the time.

There has been a pledge of $350 in seed money toward the expected $1.5 billion made by Florida's Turnpike Enterprise
