GETTING MORE THAN YOU BARGAINED FOR...IF I ONLY HAD A NICKEL...

Starting Saturday on a somewhat lighthearted note, officers got a lot more than expected while looking for marijuana on a farm in South Dade County...how 'bout 3,600,000 nickels?

Seems as though the $160,000 in coins disappeared as they were being transported from Philadelphia to a Federal Reserve facility in New Orleans, according to this story in the Miami Herald. The crew of local and federal cops came across an ice cooler filled with nickels while looking for reefer plants, then remembered the stash that disappeared last year and began looking for more...then BINGO, THE MOTHER LODE! They believe that all the stolen nickels have been recovered.

Oh, BTW: The cops found the marijuana plants they were looking for, too. Sounds like the owner is in a whole lotta do-do!
