GRANNY D...A TRUE PATRIOT

Doris "Granny D" Haddock, the 95 year old grandmother who has walked thousands of miles across America to register voters and get citizens involved in politics, has been hospitalized in Lebanon, New Hampshire to remove a tumor in her throat.

According to an e-mail sent to supporters, the surgery is expected to cost Ms. Haddock her normal speaking voice, but she was quoted before going into the OR that she will find ways to continue communicating her message of reform and democracy.

During the last presidential campaign she brought her tour across the I-4 Corridor.

Mrs. Haddock's activism dates back 45 years, when she and her (now late) husband helped prevent hydrogen bomb testing in Alaska in 1960, saving an Inuit fishingn village at Point Hope.
