DETAILS ON BUSH APPEARANCE IN TAMPA

(Keeping this at the head of the blog to insure everyone who is interested is able to see these details)

THIS IS AN UPDATED POST! PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE! Thanks to the Tampa Tribune, some changes in President Bush's appearance and additional information Friday in Tampa are now in the open.

The Prez will speak with five selected Floridians Friday afternoon in the event to be held at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 South Franklin Street (Map) scheduled for 4:00 PM for about an hour. The word is that it will be a ticket-only event. The Tribune is reporting that among those invited to apply for the appearance were stockbrokers at Tampa's Raymond James & Associates office, but tickets will be distributed through area congressional members and Governor Jeb!

The Florida Consumer Action Network and it's FCAN Foundation will hold a peaceful protest beginning at 4:30 PM. People are being asked to gather at Tampa Street and Kennedy Boulevard; that's where Bank of America Plaza and SunTrust Plaza are located.

For more information on the protest, contact Program Organizer Phillip Compton by mailto:phil@fcan.org, by phone at (813) 877-6712, or FAX to (813) 877-6651. You can also e-mail Tampa Bay area activist and former/future District 5 Congressional candidate John Russell at mailto:JR11@atlantic.net or by phone at (813) 625-2822.

Also, MoveOn.org has an event scheduled nearby. Sorry, but I accidentlly deleted the e-mail.

Fellow blogger Florida News has put together a wonderful flyer that everyone should print and place in legally appropriate places. It does require Adobe Acrobat Reader to download, as it is in pdf format. These flyers should be especially visible Friday when Bush pays a visit. Also, contact Florida News' owner and let him know it's a great bit of work and show your support.

Anyone and everyone who is concerned about this attempt to scam the American people into providing yet another reward for the mutual fund industry while risking their future by placing their Social Security funds in the stock market should be part of this event. This is not just a bunch of wild eyed liberals reliving the 60s; it's Floridians who don't want to risk the future of the Social Security program and the possibility of having to bail out hundreds of thousands or millions of people who choose to make bad choices.

When you even have several within the Repub Party who have serious questions about this "three card monte", it's time to take serious notice! It's time to put an end to this crazy scheme, once and for all!
