Sinclair Broadcasting Group is at it again with their right wing leaning antics...
Sinclair, which owns 62 television stations reaching nearly 25 percent of American households, in April ordered it's ABC affiliates to preempt an edition of Nightline in which they paid tribute to servicemen and women who died in the line of duty during operations in Iraq by reading their names on air. Now the company has now ordered all it's stations to air a 90 minute documentary in prime time two weeks before the presidential election which accuses Democratic candidate John Kerry of betraying American soldiers during the Vietnam War.
Sinclair's spokesman, Corporate Relations VP and conservative commentator Mark Hyman, claims it is "part of a special news event that we're putting together." Most folks would call it an attempt at character and political assassination.
The licenses of all Florida television stations are set to expire next year, and the Federal Communications Commission is currently seeking public comment on the performance of stations during the license period in acting in the public interest as a public trustee. All interested persons wishing to make comments should do so in writing, specifically requesting that they be placed in the station's public file. It should be sent to:
WTTA-TV
7622 Bald Cypress Place
Tampa, FL 33614
Telephone: (813) 886-9882
FAX: (813) 880-8154
WTWC-TV
8440 Deerlake Street
Tallahassee, FL 32312
Telephone: (850) 893-4140
FAX: (850) 893-6974
And a copy should be sent to the:
Federal Communications Commission
445 12th Street, Southwest
Washington, DC 20554

Check "Bark Bark Woof Woof" (S. Florida Blogger) for another nifty idea. (too lazy to get the link)
My apologies, but that list of advertisers came from DailyKos.com. Mustang Bobby at Bark Bark Woof Woof has a great link to www.boycottsbg.com with a more complete list of their advertisers, both nationally and for their local stations.
