WILL CHRIS AFFECT US, OR WON'T IT?

Tropical Storm Chris continues meandering along in the Carribean Sea, heading west-northwest toward the southern Bahamas. The forecast is for Chris to become a Catagory 1 hurricane either late today or early Thursday.

Many of the forecast models show Chris' path come near Key West or through the Florida Straits, then entering the Gulf of Mexico...if it makes it that far at all. At least a couple of models forecast Chris to come close to Hispanola and breaking up as it is affected by Haiti's mountainous areas. Regardless, the general forecast is that the storm should not --- at least for the next five days --- intensify into more than a Catagory 1 hurricane.

It still bears watching for everyone throughout the Gulf Coast region.
