HAVIN' FUN (OR BEING STUPID) CAN SOMETIMES HAVE CONSEQUENCES...AND A PRICE!

Some of you may have read or seen the story back in June of Scott Lake, located in an affluent section of Lakeland, that suddenly lost much of it's water due to several sinkholes that developed.

The lake is beginning to refill, thanks to several days of rain since then plus the fact that the sinkholes have --- at least partially --- plugged themselves up. But there is still a lot of dry lakebed down there, and it was just too tempting for one young man.

The fellow took his parents' Acura for a spin onto the lakebed, and guess what? He got stuck! He called several friends who came and tried to pull him out...and THEY got stuck!

And the story, which is told in today's Ledger, gets even better. Needless to say, the young gentleman will have some hard questions to answer once his parents come back from vacation.
