The deadline for qualifying for Federal, Judicial, State Attorney, and Public Defender races is Noon on Wednesday, May 12. Qualifying for Statewide, Multicounty (except State Attorney and Public Defender), County, District, and Nonpartisan candidates (including write-ins) is noon next Friday, May 21.

Some interesting things to look at:

There are 11 qualified candidates for U.S. Senator, including four Republicans.

And there are 27 active candidates for Governor, including nine Democrats and eight Republicans. The Reform Party may even have a primary, as they have two candidates listed as active. The Libertarians also have a candidate, as do the Socialist Party of Florida.
