LET THIS BE A LESSON TO YOU: YOU CAN RUN, BUT YOU CANNOT HIDE

Four years ago, Port Charlotte resident Jason W. Wright was involved in a crash on I-4 near Polk City. He was allegedly driving the wrong way on the interstate, and his SUV slammed head-on into another sport utility vehicle. Two people were killed in that accident, and a ten year old boy was seriously injured. The Florida Highway Patrol measured Wright's blood alcohol level to be .082, well above the level determined to be legally drunk.

Wright made a deal with prosecutors, agreeing to a 20 year prison sentence on two counts of vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter. He immediately ducked out, but is back where he belongs...behind bars, with no bail.

Working off tips to the State Attorney's Office, Wright was found and arrested late last year in the Canadian province of Ontario, where he reportedly has family ties. He was transferred from custody of the RCMP to U.S. marshalls and returned to Polk County this week.

They say the Mounties always get their man. In this case, they got ours, too. Just remember that your sins will always catch up with you.
