COULD WE SEE THE FIRST RAIN IN NEARLY TWO MONTHS??? MAYBE!

At Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, there hasn't been rain since February 3, and just less than one quarter of an inch total this year.

That dry spell may be...I said MAY BE...coming to an end this weekend. But don't look for a soaking.

The tail end of a system which has brought death and destruction to areas of the Ohio and Mississippi River valleys during the past couple of days with tornadoes and severe thunderstorms will pass near the area, but only a chance for a passing shower is expected. According to a meterologist with the National Weather Service office in Ruskin, we could see between a quarter and a half of an inch.

Not much at all, but it may at least reduce temporairly the fire risk across the state. After the weekend, word is there's no chance of rain for several more days...at least.
