THE PREZ MIXING BUSINESS, POLITICS IN FLORIDA TODAY

President Bush will be in Central Florida today, a combination of business and politics that will likely cause traffic hiccups along the way for your afternoon commute.

His exact schedule is being kept under wraps, but it is known that he will land at MacDill Air Force Base and be briefed by commanders with Southern Command (SoCom) and Central Command (CentCom). Then he heads to the Port of Tampa where he will address approximately 300 area business leaders (undoubtely invited to insure a friendly audience) on the war on terror. While there, the President will present a Volunteer Service Award to a gentleman who spent 250 volunteer hours revamping the Website of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, an organization which provides scholarship money for the children of Special Ops personnel killed in the line of duty.

After his hours in Tampa, Bush will fly to Orlando, where he will be featured tonight at a $500 a plate fundraiser for the Republican Party of Florida being held at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Orlando Sentinel says the event is expected to pull in approximately $3 million for the state party coffers.

May as well be Fantasyland for the night...

Robert,

Any way to find out who attended this fund raiser other than Jebby and Cruella De Ville? I think it should be notable for who WON'T be there as opposed to who is there. I've been scouring the net all evening and can't get one inkling other than the brother and Harris being in attendence. The Orlando Sentinel has photos up already from the event but it only shows Jebby and the faux Cowboy Prez. Mel Martinez met Bush at the airport. But nothing about him attending the fund raiser. Any info you might come across would be greatly appreciated....

Michael
