TALK ABOUT THIN-SKINNED POLITICOS

Columnist Scott Maxwell of the Orlando Sentinel makes note this morning that an article which ran Sunday revealed that Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar has one of the lowest conviction rates in Florida, according to state maintained statistics.

Well, while Mr. Lamar acknowledged the stats were correct, he was none too happy with the "unflattering" piece. So he complained about the Sentinel's "cheap shot" journalism.

Maxwell also remembers that several months back, Lamar --- with the help of several prosecutors and other staffers in his office --- put together and sent a 17 page package of complaints after a column and another story placed him in poor light.
