MAYBE THEY THOUGHT HE WAS CHARLIE CRIST

A Senior Assistant Attorney General got pepper sprayed, busted up, and robbed of approximately $500 last week after he called an escort service while staying at a Tampa hotel.

The Tampa Tribune reports that John Jefferson Rimes, III had checked into the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore and called an escort service for "female companionship". Instead of one woman, two showed up and said Rimes would need more than the $200 he had on hand. He went to an ATM machine, withdrew $300, and returned. Opening his door in response to a knock shortly afterward, a well dressed man pepper sprayed and beat Rimes, taking his money. The women left. He ended up spending the night in a hospital.

Tampa police and the AG's Inspector General are investigating. Rimes' job status has not been discussed.

His excuse will be that he was working undercover, trying to break up the pernicious hooker trade going on in Tampa.

As my friend Bob pointed out, he did end up spending the night with strange women - assuming the nurses on his hospital floor were female.

Seems Mr. Rimes (rhymes with "times" as in "can't you get laid without ending up in the St Petersburg Times?") invited a couple of pay-per-view ladies to his hotel room last week but ended up getting his ass tagged in an entirely different way than he planned.
