IF YOU HAVEN'T RETURNED YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT...PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION!

Thanks to Molly Bloom who posted this in the Daily Kos blog. It is URGENT that anyone who has not returned their absentee ballot pay close attention to this.

FOR YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT, THE OUTSIDE ENVELOPE MUST BE SIGNED BY THE VOTER

Ms. Bloom reports that in Palm Beach County, approximately 370 absentee ballots have been rejected to date by the canvassing board because the outside envelope had not been signed or that the signature did not match the one on file. She wrote that in one case, "A handicapped person was told (incorrectly) to have their husband write a letter explaining she couldn't sign the outside envelope, so he signed it for her. Her ballot was rejected."

And don't forget that your absentee ballots must arrive at the Supervisor of Elections' main office no later than 7:00 PM Tuesday for it to be counted. If you put it in the mail now and it gets lost or delayed until Wednesday, tough crap.
