IT'S PUTNAM OFF THE BENCH FOR REYNOLDS ON THIS WEEK
Congressman Adam Putnam (R - Bartow) got a taste of national media attention this morning when he appeared on ABC News' Sunday morning chatup This Week with George Stephanopoulos, substituting for collegeue and National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Tom Reynolds (R - NY). The host stated that Reynolds had committed to appear weeks in advance, but chose to ask Putnam to be his stand-in today. After Stephanopoulos noted that Putnam was substituting, he said Reynold's failure to appear as agreed was likely due to the fact that his own race for re-election in western New York State was tight, and showed a Reynolds campaign ad addressing the Foley/page issue.
Can one say chickens**t cowardice? Anyway...
Putnam, chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, debated fellow Congressman and chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Rahm Emanuel (D - IL) on the effect that former GOP collegue Mark Foley's actions and resignation would have on the elections November 7, now just over four weeks away.
