A COUPLE OF DAYS OFF: ALWAYS A GOOD THING

I had yesterday off due to the holiday, and am off today since I worked the weekend (I haven't earned holidays off yet). So it's nice to break the usual routine and wake up at 8:00 or 9:00 AM instead of the usual 5:30.

It was a rather nice Fourth of July, aside from the thundershower that passed over us during the afternoon. Thankfully, the precipitation moved on in time for the fireworks display after the Lakeland Tigers' minor league baseball game against Clearwater at Tigertown. Since we live rather close to the complex, it was a really nice view for the show, and many of the kids here enjoyed the awe of the spectacular.

I didn't think until late to capture a picture or two of the scene. Unfortunately, just as I had brought the camera out and was ready to shoot, the display ended.

Besides doing some cleaning in my apartment, it will be a relatively quiet day. I do have a couple of errands that need to be taken care of, since it's only every three weeks that I get to do business during the week.
