IT'S NOT JUST PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES THAT GET JUICED

It seems as though quite a few law enforcement officers and firefighters across Palm Beach County are doing 'roids, if the founder of the now-closed PowerMedica in Deerfield Beach is to be believed.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports this morning that 13 West Palm Beach police officers are facing suspensions for buying anabolic steriods. The cops claim the believed their purchases were legal, saying they had established a doctor-patient relationship to get the drugs.

Daniel L. Dailey, founder of PowerMedica, said up to 50 or 60 first responders were among his clients.

One Food and Drug Administration investigator told police that she and federal prosecutors were so concerned by the number of South Florida law enforcement officers who were PowerMedica customers that they took an unusual step in an active investigation -- they alerted the police agencies for public safety reasons.
