COULD THIS BE HIS NEW "APPRENTICE"?
Damon Higgins / Palm Beach Post

You can't ask for much more than having New York billionaire businessman/developer Donald J. Trump in your corner. And so it goes for Attorney General Charlie Crist's candidacy for governor.
Trump hosted his second fundraising event for Crist last night, this time at his opulent Mar-A-Largo estate in Palm Beach. He had previously held an event for Crist last summer in New York City.
But one can't accuse The Trumpster of being a ideologue, except when it comes to making money. If it's good for him, it doesn't matter if the candidate is conservative, liberal, Republican, or Democrat. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, The Trump Organization has given $23,650 to federal candidates in the 2006 election cycle. Candidates as diverse as U.S. Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton (D - NY) and John McCain (R - AZ) and Representatives Patrick Kennedy (D - RI) and Mark Foley (R - FL) have benefitted from contributions.
