SOUTH FLORIDA: WATCH THOSE CINNAMON RAISIN BAGELS

If you purchased some bagels at Publix recently, there may be a problem.

The Lakeland-based supermarket chain announced today that it has recalled four packs of it's store brand cinnamon raisin bagels in an area of South Florida from Key West to Vero Beach because they contain egg bagels, and they were not labeled as such. That could pose a potential life threatening situation for people who are allergic to eggs and eat the bagels.

Publix noted that there have been no reports of illnesses, and that all cinnamon raisin bagels now on it's shelves are correctly labeled.

The bagels can be returned to the store for a full refund. Anyone with questions can phone Publix toll free at 1-800-242-1227.
