THIS AIN'T JUST SOME TV STATION'S ODD PROMOTION

Here's a phenom for you: As Hurricane Wilma was approaching the Southwest Florida coast, Doppler radars caught this very odd site...a cloud formation shaped like a near perfect numeral '2'.

The Fort Myers News Press noted that about two dozen people noticed this odd event just before Wilma made landfall in Collier County. And for those folks that presumed that the local NBC affiliate may have doctored the photo for it's own odd type of promotion, radar sites both with the National Weather Service and the private AccuWeather service also showed the '2', but less clearly.

"It appears to be a totally random alignment of radar echoes, possibly a smaller center within the larger eye, that created the '2' figure," said Robert Molleda, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. "As the movie of the radar imagery shows, it was a transient feature which went away after a couple of images."
