UH-OH...LOOK DOWN YONDER AGAIN!

We have another tropical depression which has formed in the northwest Caribbean Sea, and forecasts from the National Hurricane Centre call for it to become a hurricane in a couple of days. From the NHC's discussion of this system:

ALL INDICATIONS ARE THAT THERE COULD BE A DANGEROUS HURRICANE IN THE NORTHWESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA IN THE NEXT 3 TO 5 DAYS. HOWEVER...BOTH GENESIS AND INTENSIFICATION ARE HIGHLY UNCERTAIN.

The forecast calls for it to have maximum sustained winds within five days of 85 knots --- that's 97.9 MPH --- a Catagory 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The steering currents are weak, and it could drift almost anywhere, but the centre line of the track take it toward the western tip of Cuba by Thursday.

You folks, especially in South Florida, may want to review your hurricane planning just in case.
