GOP ACTIVIST DIVIDE EXISTS AMONG FAMILIES, TOO

Charlie Crist? Tom Gallagher? Which Republican gubernatorial candidate does a GOP activist go for? Seems that question divides families, too. In this Palm Beach Post report by Brian E. Crowley, one example exists with lobbyist Brian Ballard and his sister, Palm Beach County commissioner Mary McCarty.

Ballard, a former chief of staff to Bob Martinez when he served as governor, is supporting Attorney General Charlie Crist. McCarty, as well as his father-in-law and law partner and former AG Jim Smith, are backing Crist's opponent, Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher. While Crist is better known across the state, Gallagher says he raised a record $3 million during the quarter just ended.

I'd like to be the "fly on the wall" in a conversation between those folks when the primary campaign becomes negative, as I'm certain it will be.
