OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH...MORE OF THE SAME!

Remember a few weeks ago we mentioned the story of the editorial page editor at Jacksonville's Florida Times-Union newspaper, who was allowed to retire after allegations of plagiarism in some of his editorials were brought forward? Lloyd Brown was also alleged --- according to a story written by one of his former collegues in the area's alternative Folio Weekly --- to have viewed Internet porn sites and conducted sexual conversations on the phone in his office during company time.

One might have thought that he would slink into disgrace. But never fear...Jeb! To The Rescue! Only a day after the Gov fired his Elders Affairs chief amid allegations of sexual harassment charges, Mr. Brown was hired by his chief of staff at a salary of $80,000 a year. As a writer on the governor's staff, Brown will write speeches, letters to the editor, press releases, and other material for Jeb!

Of course, it was during Mr. Brown's watch that the T-U was one of the few Florida newspapers --- and only major --- which endorsed Jeb's brother the Prez four years ago, and has been generally supportive of his conservative policies. Ya know what they say about payback...
