AS EXPECTED, ED ROLLINS QUITS HARRIS CAMPAIGN

GOP political strategist Ed Rollins, as has been widely reported for the past few days, has resigned from the U.S. Senate campaign of Congresswoman Katherine Harris (R - Longboat Key).

Rollins, who was the political director for the late President Ronald Reagan and served for a brief time as campaign manager for H. Ross Perot's presidential bid in 1992, told the Tampa Tribune, "I don't want to say anything derogatory. I'm done." He came aboard amid great fanfare last August.

Maybe Ms. Harris should remember the quote from English novelist, essayist, and critic Samuel Butler (1835 - 1902). In the case, the shoe fits perfectly:

"The truest characters of ignorance are vanity, pride, and arrogance."
