RAISE UP 'YER BANNER...IT'S ABOUT TIME!
This will be a special evening in Tampa, as the Tampa Bay Lightning begin their NHL regular season against the Carolina Hurricanes. But local hockey fans will have an extra reason to be excited, as there will be a pregame ceremony to do something the team never got to do last year because of the lockout: The Lightning will raise up it's Stanley Cup banner as the league's defending champions.
And in the St. Pete Times Forum's West Plaza stage, the Athens, Georgia based band the B-52s will perform a free concert this afternoon at 5:00 as part of the pregame party.
In case you're not able to be there in person --- I do believe the game is sold out --- the Lightning is making the entire pregame ceremony available on a Webcast beginning at 6:00 PM.
