GALLAGHER SAYS "NOT NOW" TO DEBATES WITH CRIST

The St. Petersburg Times political blog The Buzz notes that Chief Financial Officer and gubernatorial candidate Tom Gallagher has declined an invitation to a series of 12 debates with Attorney General and GOP primary rival Charlie Crist...at least for now.

In a letter sent to the "Charles Crist" campaign, Gallagher's team says he will not agree to any debates at least until next July, after the candidate qualifying period ends. It says that it would be premature to agree to debate before both campaigns have put out their policy ideas.

I'm not sure if the three main contenders for the Democratic nomination have even brought forth the idea of debating each other before the primary. Right now I'm sure they're more concerned with raising their war chests.
